Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney with Ureterocele

Prenatal diagnosis of right multicystic dysplastic kidney. Postnatal imaging (Figure 1 & 2) included ultrasound that showed dysplastic kidney with some tiny cysts, ureterocele in bladder, and normal hypertrophied opposite kidney. (Figure 3 & 4)

See "Lower Urinary Tract Abnormalities in Children with Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney", Radiology 1997; 203:223-226. Of 59 children with unilateral multicystic dysplastic kidney, 4 patients had an ipsilateral single system ureterocele.
